The Audi skysphere Concept is the first in a series of concept vehicles illustrating how Audi is actively shaping the future of premium mobility. These automobiles were created with one goal in mind: to envision an automotive future where the car becomes an interactive space and 'experience device' redefining progressive luxury. The vision is to offer occupants a fascinating high-end experience that goes far beyond the practical reasons of being in a car. 

 
The Audi skysphere concept is inspired by the Horch 853, a 1930s roadster that showcased exciting ideas about comfort and driving dynamics. Here we see technology meeting design - opening a door to whole new worlds of experience.

Simultaneously sports car and sedan - the Audi skysphere concept is a symbiosis of design and experience, combining a vision of automated driving and a fully integrated digital ecosystem.  It is a blending of digital design and traditional craftsmanship with 3D Technology to drive the concept forward.

 

The Audi skysphere concept was shaped by virtual and physical interactions between designers and developers in Ingolstadt and the Audi Design Loft in Malibu, California. It offers a glimpse into the future, lending visual and functional shape. To allow elegant entry to the Audi skysphere, its doors open to the rear.

Morphing from bona fide sports car to autonomous driven lounge in mere seconds - this is the progressive technology behind autonomous driving. The interior becomes an interactive space, making it an "experience device" - all made possible with autonomous driving. Occupants have the choice between grand touring mode or sports experience.

 

With breathtaking proportions, it is just that: breathtaking. Large wheels, long wheelbase, stretched low bonnet, with a short overhang and a speedster's roofline. Pairing a muscular body with elegant lines - really the ultimate dream. 

It shows that cars of the future will be a platform for captivating encounters, giving the driver the freedom to choose between two different driving options: cozy first-class lounge or agile sports car. Dynamic design continues to point the way to the future.
